  The photographer, however, is in serious but "stable" condition and my be able to leave the hospital by New Year's.

Dear Dr. Nielsen:
 
I just wanted to thank you for taking such good care of Cosmo yesterday evening. I cannot imagine what Cosmo's teeth would look like if you didn't include Southern California in your practice. (Although why you would ever want to leave your ranch is kind of beyond me!!  It was the fact that you have horses that really made me jealous!!)
 
Nevertheless, you choose to help out dog dudes with difficult dental dilemmas, and for that, Cosmo and I are grateful.  As you can see from the attached photo, Cosmo does some serious smooching with his girlfriend Remi, so a brilliant smile is an absolute necessity.
 
Anyway, despite the reason, it was nice to see you again.
